Network of Cities for Sustainable Tourism
Local authorities situated in countries of the European Union and the Mediterranean, look for a fruitful and active cooperation with other local authorities for wich mass-tourism plays a major role in the local economy. For them, the Network of Cities for Sustainable Tourism exists!

The chair of the Network is the Province of Rimini (Italy)
Other local authorities of the European Union and of the Mediterranean basin have expressed their interest towards this important initiative.
Partners of the Network can be local authorities situated in countries of the European Union or the Mediterranean, where mass-tourism plays a major role in the local economy.
Objectives of the Network are:
•To develop and implement joint projects to pursue sustainability in the tourism sector,
•To develop policies and good practices for sustainable tourism,
•To exchange information and experiences (also organising study visits and exchanges),
•To search for funds within the European Union (EU) and other potential sources in order to implement projects,
•To pass political messages to both the EU and to other international institutions and organisations which are relevant actors in the field of tourism,
•To develop common training and distance training projects for local authority officials,
•To develop a common promotion and dissemination strategy in order to increase awareness in local authorities and to present the Network achievements,
•To develop common presentation strategies to new potential markets by taking into account the sustainability targets.
